Katy Lalor, MD, FAAP is a pediatric neurologist and epileptologist at Children’s of Alabama and an assistant professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine. She did her pediatric, pediatric neurology, and epilepsy training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She felt passionate about returning to her home state of Alabama to serve epilepsy patients, especially since she herself had epilepsy as a child. Dr Lalor serves as the medical director for pediatric clinical neurophysiology as well as the director of the Epilepsy Pediatric to Adult Transition Program. She is also the assistant program director for the Pediatric Epilepsy Fellowship Program. Dr Lalor also has a strong interest in coding and billing advocacy. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Committee on Coding and Nomenclature and serves on the Editorial Advisory Board for that committee. She has also been the alternate advisor from the AAP to the Current Procedural Terminology® Panel for the last 2 years.
