Part 1: Caring for Children and Adolescents with Tourette Syndrome
Learners will be able to describe common co-occurring conditions with Tourette Syndrome and describe the range of effective management and treatment strategies of Tourette Syndrome. This course will increase competence surrounding Tourette Syndrome, thereby supporting efforts to improve patient outcomes.
Part 2: Tourette Syndrome and Beyond: Reducing Disparities and Understanding Tic-Related Conditions
This course builds on the part 1 course with resources to effectively diagnose Tourette Syndrome earlier and connect families/caregivers to needed supports and services. The course will discuss opportunities to reduce disparities in early identification and access to care. Learners will be able to differentiate between other related tic conditions (compulsions, stereotypies, and other functional motor conditions), functional tic-like behaviors, and co-occurring conditions. This course will increase clinical care competence surrounding Tourette Syndrome and co-occurring conditions, thereby supporting efforts to improve patient outcomes.
Part 3: Early Identification and Diagnosis of Tourette Syndrome
Learners will be able to differentiate between tics and other tic related conditions. Clinicians will also receive supports to share with newly diagnosed families and caregivers to better understand the clinical course progression.
