COCP Annual Awards

The nomination period for the year 2025 is now closed!

Each year the COCP recognizes the work of outstanding community pediatricians by awarding the following Community Pediatrics Awards.

The Local Hero Award recognizes pediatricians, including early career pediatricians, that lead community action and advocacy for children in local communities. This award is presented to individuals who epitomize the "community pediatrician”.

The Calvin C.J. Sia Community Pediatrics Medical Home Leadership & Advocacy Award recognizes pediatricians who have advanced the medical home through practice and advocacy, especially for children with special health care needs.

The Job Lewis Smith Award is presented to a pediatrician with a history of significant career achievements in community pediatrics.
