Advancing Pediatric Educator eXcellence Teaching Program

The Advancing Pediatric Educator eXcellence (APEX) Teaching Program is a unique, longitudinal national program, sponsored by the AAP Section on Hospital Medicine (SOHM) and the Academic Pediatric Association (APA). The program offers learning opportunities that are highly interactive and foster an ongoing exchange of ideas and best practices. Participants learn educational theory and specific skills they will apply at their home institution with direct observation of teaching by a local mentor. Under the guidance of expert faculty, they will also build a cohort of educators from institutions across the country and together develop educational workshops for national presentation. Clinical Pediatric Hospital Medicine Course

The Clinical Pediatric Hospital Medicine course is designed to provide participants with clinical updates on important topics affecting the care of hospitalized newborns and children. The goal of the Clinical Pediatric Hospital Medicine course is to provide participants with information in areas of clinical practice that can be employed in the office immediately.

Emerging Leaders Conference

The Emerging Leaders Conference brings together a mix of early careerists working as pediatric hospitalists for a unique series of interactive leadership training sessions.

Fellows Conference

The SOHM Fellows Conference matches fellows with leaders within the PHM community for skills-building exercises, networking, and career development. Didactic sessions focus on clinical topics, scholarship, and leadership.

Pediatric Hospital Medicine Conference

The annual Pediatric Hospital Medicine Conference is the premier educational conference for pediatric hospitalists and other clinicians who care for hospitalized patients. Tri-sponsored by the American Academy of Pediatrics/Section on Hospital Medicine, the Academic Pediatric Association, and the Society of Hospital Medicine. For details visit www.phmmeeting.org

The Section also hosts programming targeted to community hospitalists and neonatal hospitalists during the Pediatric Hospital Medicine Conference as well as others.
