Mission

The Women In Neonatology (WiN) of the AAP Section on Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine (SONPM) was formed to promote the wellness and careers of women in neonatology. The mission is to create a network of women in neonatology to foster leadership and professional development, as well as research, education, clinical care and advocacy in our field of neonatal-perinatal medicine. WiN aims to form a national network of women neonatal intensivists, promote women in neonatology into leadership positions, improve communication and support for women in neonatology, support research and educational endeavors, and support mentoring and advocacy for gender inequity and disparity. This will help minimize workforce issues in Neonatology.

Belief

We believe that women in neonatology are poised to lead a community of neonatologists who will provide a future of outstanding care for our patients and their families, and leading our field with innovation, intentional growth, personal development and global influence. We propose a dynamic roadmap of progress to overcome traditional roles and gender disparity by investing effort in the following areas:
