These are the 40 strategies outlined in a national framework for CYSHCN which provides overarching key principles and strategies to improve the lives of CYSHCN and their families.

The principles and strategies are categorized into 4  areas including family and child well-being and quality of life, access to services, financing of services, and assuring CYSHCN and their families achieve their full health potential. This is the starting point for discussion across local, state, and federal entities that collectively can advance the principles and strategies in a national framework for CYSHCN.

Note that while some of the strategies included are actionable, many of them serve as a guide to where we are headed rather than how to get there. The National Center is here to support Title V programs and other CYSHCN sectors in implementation activities to advance the principles and strategies outlined below.

Overall vision of a national framework: Every family to get what their child needs so that they can play, go to school, and grow up to become a healthy adult, and so parents and siblings can thrive too.
