National Survey of Children’s Health Data Briefs

In collaboration with the Altarum Institute, the National Center for a System of Services for CYSHCN is developing and publishing an annual national data brief based on the National Survey of Children’s Health (NSCH) data.

The data brief provides an overview of national level data which may inform progress to advance the system of services for CYSHCN. The NSCH indicators included in the data brief have been carefully selected by a group of stakeholders to align with the four areas of a national framework for CYSHCN.  The data brief not only provides at a glance data, but also includes a breakdown by demographic related characteristics that can help states design programs and track progress to advance the system of services for CYSHCN. Below you can find the National Data Brief published in 2023-2024 based on 2020-2021 NSCH data.  

This resource was developed in November 2024.
