The AAP Joint Providership Program has been designed in collaboration with Chapter leaders to foster excellence in continuing medical education throughout the Academy. Only AAP Chapters, Districts, the American Board of Pediatrics, government agencies, and other non-profits are eligible for joint providership of a CME activity.
Joint providers must agree to abide by the AAP Joint Providership requirements, the ACCME Accreditation Criteria, Standards, and Policies, and the requirements of the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award in granting AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. The Academy must be involved at the very start of the planning process, before the first planning meeting, and, certainly, before any topics or faculty are confirmed. AAP cannot enter into Joint Providership after development has begun. All joint providers must include a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP) on their planning committees.
The joint provider must pay a fee to cover administrative and review costs of an activity. Please contact Accreditation Services for detailed information regarding fees.
All CME activity abstracts applications must be completed and submitted to AAP Accreditation Services for review and approval. Please allow 30 days (prior to activity launch) for review of a complete activity abstract submission. Incomplete abstracts will not be reviewed until all necessary documentation is submitted.
