Purpose
Successful completion of the Clinical Event Debriefing (CED) Program will equip healthcare professionals and organizations in the ambulatory and hospital-based settings with framework and techniques to conduct meaningful and effective debriefings after clinical events. Implementing CED regularly will allow for the identification of strengths and opportunities for improved clinical performance and pediatric care.

Program Structure
This 12-month QI program integrates structured education, mentorship, and data-driven learning, including:
- AAP Collaborative Site access for educational materials and literature resources
- QIDA access for data collection and analysis
- Three quarters of debriefing and data collection to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Three quarters of mentorship to refine debriefing techniques and implement debriefing regularly

Team Structure
Teams will be organized based on institutional departments with a maximum of 40 participants per application. Each team must have at least one physician site lead, with the option to include one additional physician and one non-physician leader if desired.
Program Cost
The cost per team is $2000 for the full, 12-month program.
Refund Policy: Due to the nature of this program and resources involved, refunds will not be issued for non-attendance of the program.

Continuing Education Credits
The CED Program is accredited for Continuing Education (CE) credits for eligible healthcare professionals. CE credits are awarded based on participation and completion of the full 12-month program.
The American Academy of Pediatrics is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. AAP designates this PI CME and Other format activity for a maximum of 25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
This activity is acceptable for a maximum of 25 AAP credits. These credits can be applied toward the AAP CME/CPD Award available to Fellows and Candidate Members of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
PAs may claim a maximum of 25 Category 1 credits for completing this activity. NCCPA accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM from organizations accredited by the ACCME or a recognized state medical society.
This program is accredited for 25 NAPNAP CE contact hours of which 0 hrs contain pharmacology (Rx) content, (0 related to psychopharmacology) (0 hours related to controlled substances), per the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) Continuing Education Guidelines.
Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number 18014, for 25 contact hours.
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn up to 20 MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABP MOC credit.
This activity is approved by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) for 25 MOC Part 4 points.
