The goal of the ECHO was to serve as a forum to support primary care clinicians and others that provide care to pediatric patients in addressing obesity in pediatric patients within the context of a rural health care environment.

Hearing from You: Strengths and Challenges in Rural Settings
Participants will be able to:
- Describe what the challenges are to practicing in rural settings
- Describe what the advantages to practicing in rural settings
- Understand how these challenges and advantages impact obesity

Motivational Interviewing and Engaging Patients and Families
Participants will be able to:
- Understand Why it is important to use Motivational Interviewing (MI) during clinical encounters
- What MI is and what it is not
- Understand When to utilize MI vs Brief Action Planning
- Understand How to use MI tools

Motivational Interviewing: Cultural Humility
Participants will be able to:
- Distinguish between cultural competency and cultural humility
- Identify how principles of culture humility apply to obesity
- Apply the spirit of motivational interviewing with families culturally different from your own
- Discuss how cultural humility supports contextualized obesity care

Contextualizing Care: Social Determinants and Family Systems
Participants will be able to:
- Become aware of implicit assumptions we make about a patient’s lifestyle behaviors
- Increase awareness of the contextual elements that influence a patient’s lifestyle behaviors
- Increase skill in partnering with patients in setting goals that work within their individual context

Dietary Management of Pediatric Overweight and Obesity
Participants will be able to:
- Describe food access challenges and food insecurity in rural settings and discuss resources
- Describe the dietary management of a pediatric patient with overweight or obesity
- Describe practical tools that can be utilized by primary care physicians in rural settings

Disordered Eating
Participants will be able to:
- Describe different types of disordered eating frequently seen in children and adolescents with obesity
- Differentiate between disordered eating and eating disorders in children and adolescents with obesity
- Recognize the role that weight bias and stigma play in not identifying disordered eating in children and adolescents with obesity
- Identify the role of the healthcare provider plays in prevention of obesity and eating disorders
- Recognize when to refer to behavioral health and/or eating disorder specialists for continued treatment
- Explain how to screen for eating disorders in children and adolescents with obesity

Billing, Coding and Payment
Participants will be able to:
- Increase understanding around Diagnosis Code ICD-10
- Understand how to choose an E&M Level Service
- Increase Awareness of Coverage of Obesity Care

Psychological Evaluation in Medical Clinics
Participants will be able to:
- Identify screeners to identify PTSD and ADHD
- Understand how to evaluate suicidal ideation
- Understand executive function interventions
